Am i being to much like duff? my equipment is a fender jazz bass aerodyne and gk amp and rotosound strings and yellow tortex picks. Does it seem like im coping him or being to much like him?

please dont worry I had 4 Les Paul copies because of one tophatted guitarist :-) n still have 3, needed to sell one couple of weeks ago cos my visabill been sooo damn big past 1,5 year thanx to ebay.com n all those fantastic GNR-items I have bought from ebay...

N I don't even much play guitar n still got 3 LP copies (one epiphone LP studio and two Tokai Love rock -guitars)...

Hell No!!! You know how many SRV wannabees are out there with a strat, a tube screamer and a marshall half stack? Everybody emulates thier heroes, there is nothing wrong with it. I got a Duff rig too. I like it because of the sound and how it doesn't sound like the traditional "thud" "thud" bass everyone is used to hearing.

If you don't actually like any of the equipment and only bought it because of Duff then yes. But if you like it and like playing it then it doesn't matter.

I was wondering the same thing when my choice of bass came down to Jazz Special or Aerodyne, but then I realised it actually makes a lot of sense for me to like the instruments my favourite bass parts were recorded with. I know I like how they sound (although with me playing it anything can sound terrible) so it's a safe bet I'll like playing them, rather than if I went for something I'd never heard used.
