Hi Duff + everyone!
You have inspired me to learn how to play bass and for that it would be useful to have one  Cheesy ...what would you recommend? also notice that I don't have lots of cash
Btw, I looooove your white Fender Jazz Special so if you want to sell one, let me know
Love ya, Andrea

I'd go with a Yamaha. They're light, balanced, and the best bass for the money. A $500 Yamaha BB is a lot better sounding than those $500 Fenders. You need to spend nearly $900 on a Fender for it to sound good.

I've been playing bass since I was 19 and Guitar since 13. My first Bass was a Squier (Fender) Precision bass, and that thing had AWESOME sound. I wished I would have kept it. I'm now playing a Fender Precision Jazz custom. Also have an Alvarez bass I love, but for the likes of me, I swear the thing grew legs and walked outta my ex-guitar players basement.
